Patent Legal Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) says"Not a great place if you are in the IP Department. The manager is an evil witch and that is one of her good qualities. If she doesn't like you kiss your job goodbye. Once you become of a certain age they will offer "early retirement" and if you turn it down they will find a way to get rid of you. Cons: Manager is a micro manager"
Floater Legal Secretary (Former Employee) says"A typical day at work would be receiving an assignment and working from that desk for the day or however long the assignment called for. Most of the time, attorneys did not give work to the Floater Secretary until they were comfortable with working with you. Cons: Management"
Technology Specialist (Former Employee) says"Typical law firm with a typical patent group. However, there are a few bad seeds (partners) that made the experience unbearable. Moreover, they tend to hold associates back, and not allow them to grow."
Senior Audio Visual Technician (Former Employee) says"As Law Firm's go Foley is one of the better ones. The legal staff are pleasant and inclusive with staff. Management is cold and removed however."
Legal Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) says"A typical day at Foley would consist of processing expense reports, invoices, making sure their diaries were done on a daily basis or weekly basis. Processing bills on a monthly basis. Cons: Located in the Seaport District"
Legal Secretary (Former Employee) says"I was in different fields of law at this firm and enjoyed every minute of it because I love learning new things. There are always those attorneys you don't connect with, but overall this was a good firm."
Former Employee - Legal Administrative Assistant says"I worked at Foley Hoag full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Discriminatory practices while hiding behind mandatory, phony "unconscious bias training", big joke"
Current Employee - 125000 says"I have been working at Foley Hoag full-time for more than a year Cons: Administrative leadership rigid and traditional."
says"I have been working at Foley Hoag Cons: Very disorganized, lack of management, lagging behind other firms with regard to compensation, benefits, technology. The culture and environment is on the decline."
says"I have been working at Foley Hoag Cons: Decision making does not consider the impact that it has on people's everyday lives. One example of this is that salary cuts were announced five days before they were implemented. Another example is that salary increases or lack thereof are not communicated in a timely manner."
Current Employee - Associate Attorney says"I have been working at Foley Hoag full-time for more than a year Cons: Billable hours are crazy but you get used to it"
Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I have been working at Foley Hoag full-time Cons: low pay and sometimes a very light work load"
Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I have been working at Foley Hoag full-time Cons: Bonuses for admin staff are pretty low, little to no flexibility in terms of schedule, no opportunity for work from home. No casual dress down days (i.e. Casual Fridays). Rules are not applied fairly to all. So-so PTO policy. Doesn't feel like management is open to development for admins outside of what the firm offers for free; Non-centralized billing/finance dept which creates unnecessary delays and extra work."
IP Administrative Assistant says"I worked at Foley Hoag Cons: Had a bit of a high school like mentality. Many of the other employees outside my department were nicer than others. Unfortunately, this is the territory in many work places."
Former Employee - Paralegal says"I worked at Foley Hoag full-time for less than a year Cons: I can't think of any cons for this employer. Great place to work with good hours and good pay. Good people to work with, both peers and management. Great experience."
Former Employee - Secretary says"I worked at Foley Hoag full-time for more than 10 years Cons: None that I can think of"
